If you’re handy, plumbing it in can be a DIY job. You will need to ensure proper spacing and levelling to avoid voiding your warranty. Electrical work? Always use a licensed electrician – no exceptions.

Pool heat pumps come in a range of sizes, depending on your pool and how many months a year you want to swim. A smaller pool will cost less to heat, and heating for spring-to-autumn is more affordable than aiming for year-round warmth.
The most cost-effective long-term option is to invest in a quality heat pump up front. Higher-end models use less energy, last longer, and have better warranties than cheaply-made alternatives – so you save money and avoid headaches down the line.
Electric pool heaters have varying electrical requirements. In most cases (though there are exceptions), any unit above 14kW requires either a 15A plug or hardwiring.
